Beachbody, in conjunction with fitness instructor Tony Horton, created the P90X system, also known as the Power 90 Extreme. It has become widely popular and is probably the number one fitness program on the market right now. It has become the subject of many workout dvd reviews on the web as a result of this.
However, as a woman, I was sceptical about using it, because I have mainly seen it being promoted with big, muscular men. That is not what I want out of a fitness program. I was just looking for a way to keep fit, slim down and maybe tone my muscles.
My Journey Over 90 Days With P90X
I chose to do the classic version of P90X, and I did all 90 days. There is a lean schedule too, which is a bit easier and does not include the plyometric exercises. I stuck with the classic because I’ve heard from other P90X users that it gives a better general workout. I made a P90X review after my 90 days, which covers all the basics.
If you search online, you can actually find many examples of women going through P90X. They show before and after pictures and display their transformations. Women come out of P90X looking slimmer, healthier and happier than before. There are many P90X women reviews out there if you are still sceptical and want to read some real life stories.
Working Out To P90X
There are 12 DVD workouts included with P90X, ranging from basic legs, arms, backs and chest routines to Yoga, Ab Ripper and Kenpo. You begin each workout with a warming up period, and end with a cooling down period. You are instructed to train 6 out of 7 days a week, for 60-90 minutes a day. The last day of the week can be filled with an easier routine of stretching. This is your rest day, and the stretching is not difficult.
Not much equipment is required, which is great. I advise you invest in the chin-up bar and some resistance bands for maximum effectiveness. You can only read other people’s stories for so long. If you really want your dream body, you have to take the P90X challenge yourself and see.
